Some designs I did for a Cold Stone store that was advertising a "Happy Hour" for their ice cream. The poster was made. I wanted to show the duality of buy one get one free.

Design - Shoe Project
This project consisted of creating a shoe from three other pairs. We were not to use other elements from anywhere else except the other shoes we were using. Then we were to create an advertisement for this shoe and its uses.

Type Face Design
The objective of this assignment was to redesign a Move/Game/Book/Etc typeface. I chose two names to redesign. They were Monster Hunter and Parasite Eve.
This project was really fun to do because it allowed me to play with type on paper for the first time. Not only to tear it apart, but to dissect it and analyze what I was changing.

CD Package
The objective of this project is to re-create a full CD package. This includes, Front and back cover, inside space, spreads for lyrics and a poster advertising the CD.
Using the feeling of the singer and their style to create a sutible package that would best represent the artist and their song style.
I chose Robin Thicke, an R&B artist who is known for his smooth vocals and an recent hit in the R&B charts in the past few years (2005-2011)
This is one of the harder projects that I have done. Not because of the concept but because of the crafting and the difficulty of making everything by hand.
The harder parts besides the craft was the setting of the type in the spreads because i had to get so much type and lyrics on only one or two pages.
Through the many roughs i came through to get my final was challanging and hard to decide which one would make it. But i do not regret my decision.
I still believe that this shows a bit of sexuality, beauty,
and has a good deal of Robin Thicke’s flavor in it.
A really big lesson i learned was that printing black on black was VERY difficult but through learning about papar weights and color specting and printer checks. I was able to learn to do it properly. thus the beautiul results.
RESEARCH
Thicke’s 2008 release, Something Else, was described as “one of the year’s best R&B albums” by Chuck Arnold in People. Leah Greenblatt, writing in Entertainment Weekly, called Thicke “a sort of musical medium” who conjures up the souls of singers such as Marvin Gaye, Stevie Wonder, and Curtis Mayfield; and she praised Thicke’s “light-footed ease with the material.”
In 2009 Thicke was featured in a song by Lil Wayne, “Tie My Hands.” The song was Wayne’s response to the destruction of New Orleans by Hurricane Katrina. In Billboard, Shad Read called it Wayne’s “best song to date,” and described Thicke’s singing on the track as “spectacular.

Song Book - Snake Eater
This project is about making a song book. We chose a song and design a book based on its lyrics and feeling. The song i chose was SnakeEater by Cynthia Harrell. This book is TYPE based for its solution and there to be no images and photographs.
I ued Baour Bodini for her voice and Serifa for the background effect/canopy.
The problem i had to solve for was based around my old ideals of type. I used to only use warps and other skewing type solutions to solve my type problems. I need to play more with scale, rhythm, balance, and many elements and principals of design that i normally lacked.
In this book I solve the problem by manipulating the type properly. I use the massive letters to represent the canopy and the density of a forest fore the “person” is on an adventure thought the book. The color camouflage is used to help the type have some dimension and foreground/ background. The body of the book take the form of a snake, because its called SNAKE eater.
((LYRICS))
Snake Eater Lyrics - Cynthia Harrell
What a thrill...
With darkness and silence through the night
What a thrill...
I'm searching and I'll melt into you
What a fear in my heart
But you're so supreme!
I'd give my life
Not for honour, but for you! [Snake Eater] (whisper)
In my time there'll be no one else
Crime, it's the way I fly to you! [Snake Eater]
I'm still in a dream,
Snake Eater!
Someday you go through the rain
And someday, you feed on a tree frog
This ordeal, the trial to survive
For the day we see new light!
I'd give my life
Not for honour, but for you! [Snake Eater]
In my time there'll be no one else
Crime, it's the way I fly to you! [Snake Eater]
I'm still in a dream,
Snake Eater!
I am still in a dream,
Snake Eater!
[Snake Eater] ((whisper))
The Book goes together to create a fold together (fold out) snake with a head and a tail (not shown yet).
This is meant to be heard along with the song and give type feeling to song as if it was only shown through type and nothing else. Even the sounds are given "form" as the type snakes its way through the "canopy" which is the giant letters which in themselves spell out Snake Eater.
As always there is a long process to reach these end results and I will put up this process another time. This took three weeks to create.
Aristo's Cafe
This project was done as a redesign to a resturant of our choice. This involved creating a full identity for them. Letterhead, Envelope, and Business Card. Design Brief states all the objectives.

Year Poster 1962
This project was about a single moment in a year. My poster is based on the year 1962 on a Solar Eclipse event. They type holds the description for the event in a shape that represents the cone of shadow that is casted down to earth on a single point. This point is shown as a Ligature that I custom made. The year, sources of information, and the information of the event is shown.
